i call once a week, sometimes feel like i shouldcall more, but put it off,…how often is normal top call…
and it seems more normal for girls to call the inlaws not the boys to call thiers…

I call and speak to my mil every other day so generally about 4/5 times a week! Speak to the rest of fam as and when:)

I think this depends on how often you see them.
For instance if i would be seeing them once a week, u wouldnt call unless i have something ask or something.
If i see them once every 2 week, then ill probably call once... hmmmm
I have a question: if your inlaws live in PK ur husband will be calling them quite often from daily to weekly.(Thats a lot!!!) Thats what ive mostly heared. How about you? when do u speak to the inlaws int his case....

whatever the ratio be, it has to be two-way. I would be gladder to call and then have a call back too, instead of keep calling and then ending up being frustrated and all that.

Same wth me sanum just once a month woh b huby baat kr rahay ho tu i just take n say hello hi my mil is v formal kind of women she minds if her dil call her every now n then

I try to call 2-3 times a month. Theres a 4 (now 5) hour difference between the Uk and Pak, so when its noon there I've just left for work, when I come home its 10pm there, hardly the time to call, so I can only call on my days off... But yeah, I think once a week is fine.

I live in the same city as my mil and see them once a week (usually stay over the weekend or vice versa)... And i call them every other day or so...cuz i want to
Its not something that should come by force... Whatever floats ure boat... But i see drama there in your case ./

I assume the wedding of your SIL is quite near, so it wouldn't really be abnormal to call her more than once. That is if you're genuinely interested in getting all sorts of updates and following on from previous conversations. In a shadi wala household, you can always find things to talk or inquire about.

well it is tough question and you may get different answers.
if you are bride and alreay have rukhsati, then you need to get in touch more frequently compare to a girl who only had nikkah.
i mean rukhsati put more liability, you become part of family.
if no rukhsati happened, then you are not required to talk as much. it is ok to speak with your mil once in a month.

I call my in-laws about once a week. Sometimes it becomes twice a week, or sometimes I get busy and go more than a week without calling. We dont live close by (close enough to see them once a month, but not every week), and they have never complained to my husband that I dont call often enough. My husband calls his parents about 3 times a week. And I call my own parents only 1 time a week as well, so its not like Im talking to my parents every single day and only calling his once a week, so my husband knows Im not doing "farqh" between the parents.
