There is an internal job opening. I was invited for an interview, well I kind of asked if I can apply for the job, as it consists of Intern Organisation & Process Management and I just finished my Senior Process Management ceritification.. now this is how the interview went. I want to know ur input if I did the right thing.
Well as it was intern, it was kind of informal. The TL didnt ask me creepy questions about myself, but started by explaining the role and giving input of what is expected.
As it proceed I got the impression that its quite a tough job with lots of resonsibilites and load of work, so over time will not be avoidable. There was 3 main concentration where a lot to be done and each concentration, the candidate would need lots of new knowledee, which would be gained by “doing on the work”. My advantage, I know the company, my disadvantage, I cannot do overtime, I can hardly do 38.5 h/week.
So I said, i will be open with you, I cannot do over time even if I want to, I know u need someone with lots of time for the job.
So at the end, it came out, I am not applying any further for this job.
So you think i did the right thing by being honest with him, or would I have said, I’ll do it, and well who cares about overtime, no one can force u here by rule.?
