can we save our gold and valuables in a conventional bank or are the other places you can go to…one thats obv secure. and how much are the charges, if any?

I'm with Natwest and they charge me £8 a month or so. I don't have to pay to place or remove items from the box as long as I give the branch 24 hours notice.

My parents have a safety deposit box with another bank (I think Lloyds TSB) and they just pay a yearly fee but get charged each time they access the box.

Our account comes with a free safe deposit box in the smallest size. It's pretty big, but narrow. Fine for storing jewelry, but not jewelry boxes.

mine safety deposit box costs me $80/year and it is quite large......I'm sure a smaller one can be rented for about $65/year.

Call bank you bank with. They normally have discounts on deposit box for account holders
