How much weight do you lose/gain during Ramadan typically?

I would like to know the average weight gain or loss you experience during a typical Ramadan. Please state if you exercise regularly or not. I am trying to figure out what the average scenario is.

Thank you.

Re: How much weight do you lose/gain during Ramadan typically?

depends on how many parathas you eat for sehri and how much u baste it in desi ghee. how much sugar you add to fruit chaat, how many pakoras you eat for iftaar and if u really think that rooh afza is an energy drink or not (when its actually just food color and sugar).

Re: How much weight do you lose/gain during Ramadan typically?

Well I dont usually keep a record but I am this time. I weighed myself at the start and I'll do it again at the end. I dont think many people would lose much weight in Ramadan cos they compensate for not eating in the day with all the wrong food in the evening.

Don't tell me you gals keep a record of this too :O

Re: How much weight do you lose/gain during Ramadan typically?

I have lost about 2 pounds since the start of Ramzan, mainly because my iftar is mainly dates and some fruit with chai and I play 90 minutes of tennis afterwards. I tried Miss Mohabbat’s pakoRa recipe yesterday :yummy: and if I gain any weight she will be solely responsible

Re: How much weight do you lose/gain during Ramadan typically?

It's a daily struggle. By around 5 PM it feels like I have lost 20 pounds. But come dark, I feel like 200 pounder ... it's hard to walk

Aishaaa2.1, Ramzan doesnt mean that your left foot is on a roza, put that on the scale too

Re: How much weight do you lose/gain during Ramadan typically?

My weight remains the same in ramzan or eid, in khushi or gham. I need to gain a few pounds. :(

Re: How much weight do you lose/gain during Ramadan typically?

Dude, you make laugh.

I gain pounds. lots and lots of pounds.

Iftar is always heavier than breakfast
Dinner stays the same
Sehri same as/heavier than lunch.

Do the math. :frowning:

Re: How much weight do you lose/gain during Ramadan typically?

Ergghhhh I been on a samosa and pakora and paratha diet and everyone says i look like i’m losing weight.. even my jacket felt a lil looser :bummer:

Re: How much weight do you lose/gain during Ramadan typically?

I either stay the same or gain some. Never lost weight during the month of Ramadan. In the mornings I can't eat much. I never do in other months and can't get myself to during the month of Ramadan.

Well, when it's time for iftar, my eyes are usually bigger than my stomach. I take a lot of food on my plate thinking I will finish it, but once you start eating, you're full with the same amount of food as usual.

So foods intake isn't the problem, the real problem is the special foods many of us start to make during the month of Ramadan like pakori, kabab, khier, zarda, baked chicken instead of steamed, etc. etc.

Now that's the real problem.
