yea, pretty much, since my hubby’s mom wasn’t in the states at the time of the baat paki, we held of on having any sort of celebratory gathering until she could come over, the “mangni” party was really just a family thing at my sister’s house, and the first time all members of both khaandans got together..my nana and ghar ke elders really frown on “mangni’s” in general, we usually have the wedding as soon as rishta is set and baat paki-fied…mine was a unique situation to say the least…lol!
