How much involvement are you willing to put up with from your parents and inlaws?

Do you expect your wife to obey your parents?

Does your wife expect you to obey hers?

“Involvement” can be negative interference or positive support. Depends on what the situation is.

Obey parents, no. Respect them, yes.
