Well why are people selling them at these prices, and other people buying them. Ive seen so many people bid more than £100 for a system like this. Thats why I'm checking them out.
Well, what is ur budget? Ask someone u know in IT if they know some company getting new equipment. Those companies usually get rid of similar PC's for like $50-75. My company just donated about 20 of them.
don't go for these spacs. you can get a better deal from dell. and if you are a UK resident you can also get a decent machine from PC world, Dixsons or Dell on easy payment plan. in camparision you can get an toshiba P4 with 20G hd, 256 RAM DVD drive etc in under £500 now.
you know it might also be a good idea to check out Loot, they have a website as well as the paper... it has the added benefit that you can usually have a look at the laptop before you buy, not that ebay isnt great but its easy to get swept along in the bidding.
Zombie's right, you can get good deals with Dell... check out their Dell outlet, you can find really great deals, but they go quick so dont take too long deciding if you find one you want. but saying that, if you honestly dont wanna spend more than £100 and you only want it for the internet then you're prob only gonna find a laptop for that price on ebay.
Also, have a look at ones which have a slight prob with them, like slightly broken screen or broken usb ports etc. cos they'll go for cheaper and you kind find ones like that which still have good specs.
If you are in US then for around 100$ to 150$ .. you can buy a computer (desktop, excluding monitor) with reasonable spec
RAM 256, CPU 1+ GHz, 20GB HDD
Thats minimum you would like to have for the "now a days" technology.
Depending upon your budget ... if you can spend some then I'd rather suggest to buy a new computer .... if I'd be you .. I'll look for a new computer (excluding all celeron models).
