Its kind of cute since my dad thinks he can still teach me a thing or 2 about computers. ;)
Like a good kid I would listen and nod and say yes abba since there isnt a way for me to correct him. He gets mad easily.
Note to self: I should get him registered on gupshup and try to impress him with my title here since he is not too impress with me having 2 masters degrees and being a Computer engineer for the past 15 years. :p

Haha with my dad its the opposite, he will complain that I go too fast 
They know most things, but dad’s google capability is amazing. I don’t know how he manages to find stuff that even I can’t!

I've tried teaching my mother but now I'm just going to get her a tablet because it is easier to use.

My mum isn't too good with laptops, but she's addicted to youtubing on the computer!

^^Thats what my wife use it for mostly but she has a tablet for that as well.
Laptop was too hard to use for amman.Sent IPad mini last month. Hope this will be useful.
On the other hand my khala uses iPhone and doesn’t matter how many times she posts her whole camera roll she keeps trying:lifey:

My mom could not use a computer up until I left Pakistan. Now she knows how to turn on the computer and sign on to skype. She has an email address too now

Dad is a whole different story. His time on the computer is always productive and his computer skills are way above average. Which isn’t a surprise, since he has been using computers for the past 26 years or more.
My mom usually just uses her phone or the tablet but it's funny how she thinks Facebook comments should be written like letters. Starts of with a Dear and ends with sincerely. Really ami really!?! We have mutual friends on fb!!!!

my mom uses an ipad and browses news, facebook and urdu columns on it. my dad is in IT so he's pretty brilliant at what he does with anything

My father has been emailing for many years now and types and sends all his letters for official correspondence etc
Since a few years now, he's also on Facebook, Skype and interacting with old friends colleagues, family etc :D

My dad can find his way around. He knows how to install stuff, use MS Office, Skype and Web browser. My mom refuses to do anything on one.

Have your kids (if you have any, and they are of the age) explain how to use a computer/tablet to your parents. It's amazing to see how much patience a child has and how important he/she feels "teaching" something to a grandparent. My 11 year old spent a good amount of time with my dad a few weeks ago. Now he knows all about Skype, Facetime, Gmail chat, iMessage, downloading apps and iTunes. More than the knowledge dissemination, it was time well spent and incredible bonding between the two.
