Work is broadly defined here as studying / paid work / unpaid work (i.e. cleaning) and so on. For those who are studying, can you also include time spent in classes in your calculation? Those (most of us) who do two or more of the above three types of work, only calculate the number of hours worked per week for your primary responsibilities (i.e. working students only report the time spent studying and in class).
A. 10 or less
B. 10-20
C. 20-40
D. 40-60
E. 60 or more
F. other
I would also like to know how many hours you’d like to work and how you manage your time to fit in everything. Do you feel stressed?
I’ll start: I study/research about 56 hours per week. So E. I feel I am not getting enough done, especially with my research and there are deadlines coming up, and would like to increase this. I am hoping I can cut out my free time and do 70 hours per week. The only problem is that there are other responsibilities.
I also have about a 1.5 hour drive every day (that's both ways)...oddly enough, the commute seems to be a very nice wind-down time. Listen to the news on the radio...make some calls...that sort of thing...
I only feel stressed over deadlines...not so much the volume of work.
I work probably around 50 hours a week, although I'm paid for only 40...so obviously 40 or less (C) is the goal. 50 hours implies working from home; I shouldn't have to cut into my own time to finish my tasks at work.
