I am also the same way. I don’t look for mistakes but they stand out to me like sore thumbs.
I do see Guac’s point though where unless you’re at school or in a professional setting, it can be exhausting to constantly be in that mode. Its not necessarily anyone else’s pet peeve. A lot of times I don’t even bother capitalizing because I am that tired.
I have met people at work or in school that are intelligent, capable and successful…but they’re hand writing or written grammar is terrible. My high school English teacher’s hand writing was completely illegible and he was brilliant.
I have to say…when I use the word FOB I use it for people who come off as narrow-MINDED. Meaning, its not their grammar I am uncomfortable with…its their thought process.
