I have a lot of friends getting married this year…and I prefer to give money. How much do you think is a decent amount to give to friends on their wedding?
Depends on how close you are or how well you know them I guess
I don’t mean to be funny but this whole leena – deena business come into it in a sense!
Have you had any functions where they have given to ur family? That could help decide.
Otherwise I think to give on behalf of a family £50– 100 as a family is ok! or think of wot she may like and approx the value?

I was thinking of giving $100 or $150. My fiance thinks I should give $150...cuz $100 is apparently considered "cheap"....but I thought $100 was the standard? :S

I think $100 is a really good amount especially if ure goign to be the only one attending the wedding i know ppl who attended the wedding alone and gave $20 no thts "cheap" even though it kind of doesnt matter wut u give but come $100 to $20 i think ure being generous!! my vote stick with $100

$20 OMG that is cheap wow! yeh if its from you and ur husband $100 is definately good-
My friends wedding is comming up and im a whole scrapbook type of person i LOVE creating stuff and i love making cards- so for her wedding- from me and family were giving $100 and im personalizing a card for her- with pictures and little old memories etc. :)

You know what, I'm sick of people saying that XX amount is cheap.
Base it how well you know them and most importantly how much you can afford.

Exactly. No one can tell you how much you should give because neither do we know what you earn, nor do we know how close you are to them! For some people giving $50 strains their finances and others can drop $500 without even noticing, it all depends on your financial circumstances, of which you are the best judge. Plus the number of weddings you have to attend might also be a factor. You might attend only 5 weddings one summer and give $100 to each couple and be fine. But if you have to attend 15 weddings the next year, then that same $100 per couple might be harder to fork out. So its all relative, just discuss with your fiance and decide whats best
