Why you say" Hacks in H&R blocks" I usually use them and not a single penny got back for my charitable expenses and donations they said you did not pay any thing to them so for donations you don’t eligible to get back any penny even I provide them my private school expenses(that was not donation though:D) and other receipts of my donations to charitable organizations:(

I went to an H&R Block "class" for training to be a tax preparation specialist for them when I was 18 yrs old. Beleive me, you do better on your own. The class teaches how to fill out the forms quickly, in law-abiding fashion but without regard to saving people money.

hmm i went to HR last yr and saved quite a bit and it was not a walk in. i think i had paid around $300. i believe they have different levels of tax consultants depending on their experience/qualification.

My accountant charges around $500 but that includes corporate taxes too :D

Yes Hr block does have different levels of expertise. If you walk in, they dont really let you know about all that, they just chug you thru the system so to speak. At least thats what they taught in that awful class that i went to.
