How much do Indians know about Pakistan?

Pakistanis seem to have a good understanding of the Indian culture because of the prevalence of Indian media in Pakistan, but how much do Indians (residing in India) know about the Pakistani culture? I have often heard Indians ask questions that you’d think they should know the answer to… e.g. a colleague of mine (born n bred in India) asked if we have co-education in Pakistan and whether males and females are allowed to intermingle at social events. I was like dude t’is the exact same as India! Another example would be of Kareena Kapoor asking Shaista Wahidi during an interview in Dubai whether she’d be able to get good Indian vegetarian food in Pakistan… Like duh? Yes, we also have daal and sabzi. And another example would be of our Indian Punjabi family friends being shocked when told Pakistani women also wear sari and most don’t wear abaya, that’s an arab thing… :confused:

Government schools and colleges(for intermediate) don't have co-education. At least not here in Karachi. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
And, I'm guessing here, 90% of the mosques don't have spaces for women, hence women don't go to mosques.

There's schools/colleges for girls only/boys only in India too, isn't there? And they have mixed-sex education too just like in Pakistan.

Need an Indian over here.
Just saying that the those who depend on the government to educate their kids don't really have an option. I got to study Co-ed throughout my life, just because my parents could afford it. People who can't afford private schools don't have an option.

I know that north west frontier province is now khaybar pakhtunkhwa.....:D
And above all lot of indian know that Mr.10% =Zardari...............:D
But i accept lot of indian dont know too much about pakistan....
Even our films dont know how to portray pakistani characters....................:D

BBC I am from a small village and town simultaneously ....
So when i was a child...video cassettes of Bakra kisto per were available there in that small town.....
And funny movies of sikandar sanam are easily available there....
We used to watch pirated movies by courtesy of sadaf cds.................:D

sometimes they dont want to..but when ever they genuinely want to they cannt do it…
while pakistan has lot of actors capable of playing indian very easily…
BTW tere bin laden was exception..The actor who played duplicate of osama was awesome…

You agree that Indians don't know much about Pakistan so I guess you're an exception, especially because you keep in touch with the current affairs. Knowing about Zardari, political turmoil etc is different from understanding the culture. Like what about not knowing whether or not Pakistan enforces gender segregation or abayas in public places like Saudi Arabia? That much you should know about your neighbouring country, no? We know in India there are the extremely conservative ones who wouldn't step out the door without a dupatta and then there's the extremely liberal ones and the moderate ones.... exact same in Pakistan.

Recently Ali_syed surprised me when he said in pakistan women dont drive mopeds/scooters/scooties
While in india it is common mod of transport for middle class women and girls....

Brother north india is very close to Pakistan culturally....there was a shop in palika market of delhi which was famous for selling dvds of pakistani dramas

And yes Delhi is infamous for eve teasing....i heard lot about karachi too....:D

Yes, that they do. One Indian girl said to me “mujhe musalmano k kapray buhat ache lagte hain” :hehe:

Indian motorcycle manufacturers were smart to target such a demographic, untapped and hungry for cheap mode of transportation. Don't know what wrong with the Pakistani motorcycle industry, all they need is the right scooter and aggressive marketing and women would flock to buy their motorbikes. Right now the market doesn't have a two wheeler for women.

in indian actually every foreign bike manufacturer was needed by law to collaborate with indian company...
While in pakistan they had open access still they never developed different range of bikes...
I was surprised when i saw an ad of 70cc bike on pakistani channel...our bike ranges start from 96cc...:)
