Mine is about $65-70 CAD. But that's with gasoline prices hovering at $1.30 per/litre.

Just to keep my sanity in check, I never fill my tank up. I put 25-30 dollars worth of gas and drive away. We do the same in Niks car also

Its not denial UZ. I call it money management. Your family probably uses $500 dollar worth of toilet paper in a year, but do you buy all at one time or go as you need? Same with the gas.
In fact, if you think logically, one gallon of gas is about 6 lbs. when you put 16 gallons vs lets say 6 gallons (like your dad does) you add 60 lbs of extra weight to your car. Every extra 100 lbs of weight gives you 1% less fuel economy. In the long run, your dad saves more money on the same numbers of miles that he drives vs you drive.
