Untill 1996, you could only get 3, PTV, PTV2 and NTM. I heard there are a couple other channels now that you can get without dish? Just curious.
How about with a dish? I guess that would depend on what dish you have and where it is pointed. Could be unlimited I guess. I heard dish in Pakistan is now subscription based, you have to buy a card every month or 3 months. True?

Re: How many TV channels do you get in Pakistan now?
Oh cool. Forgot about this thread.
So are all these channels still free, or is there subscription involved now? Back in 96, I used to hear about these new cards that everyone will have to buy to get dish. Did that ever happen?
Re: How many TV channels do you get in Pakistan now?
The prices vary. like when i was in Karachi this summer, in some area's you can subscribe for 300.00's a month but offcourse there's a desi style when they split the cable connection between 4 parosi's and make it 75.00 a month aswell :) , and there also there are different cable dealer's who give different prices so.
Re: How many TV channels do you get in Pakistan now?
Is there any chance of getting Geo Super a newly launched sports channel by Geo. We want to get through if they are not giving it free to air for domestic viewers, as most parts of the do not have access to the cable systems, many people like use dishes to watch such intersesting channels. But it is very sad that good channels are going to encrypted and there is no cheaper mathod to view these channels. such as most channels of geo network are encrypted.
Can any body tell me something about this..........
