pardon me but why do I have to count all that I have done for my spouse. I would rather be more interested in noticing what he has done for me and be grateful for that. Saying that, one cannot really count what one does for each other. Its a mutual pact of love begets love and should be this way. out of the trade sort of thing.

I guess that would be called…compromise? 
Understand it’s not the easiest thing to do, but it’s important. Besides your spouse how many times have you done something you didn’t feel like doing for your…parents/siblings/friends/children? And how many times have they done something for you that they didn’t feel like doing? It can feel uncomfortable when someone reminds you of what they’ve done for you…especially if it’s done often (not saying you do that). If you are feeling that the efforts/sacrifices/compromises seem more one-sided…then you can try to address the issue in a calm way.
