In school, I learned that eating 3 meals a day (breakfast lunch and dinner) is the healthy norm. Of course now, almost every single diet plan pushes 5-6 smaller meals a day…I can understand the logic behind that and how its beneficial especially to who need to lose weight.
But I come across far too many people who think eating only once a day is perfectly normal and anything more than that is too much–no matter what I find this extremely hard to believe that that is healthy!
I know composition of meals makes just as much difference as how much of it you eat/how many times a day you eat…right?
I have seen many ppl having good breakfast, skipping lunch and having dinner around 6pm. And I personally think it is a very good schedule. Having two meals should suffice the need of your body and maintain your health as well provided you keep your diet as per the healthy principles.
I myself have 3-4 meals, which is the prime reason I’m not in the best of shapes..
^ Yeah but u gotta train like crazy...for the average person who has likely an office job and gets moderate exericse..2-3K range is enough to maintain.
The reason they reccomend you eat 6 meals a day is to curb hunger and cravings. Before I became my healthy self I used to eat a meal a day basically, I just didn't feel hungry for breakfast or lunch really but I would eat a small packet of crisps, a chocolate bar or something and then have a huge dinner. Now I have 3 meals and 2 small snacks, and the best thing about it is that I'm never really hungry, because I'm pretty much eating throughout most of the day. Of course I'm still eating the right amount of calories because my snacks are fruits, vegetables or nuts and not chocolate bars or crisps.
^ Yup that and to make sure your blood sugar doesn't dip too low because when it dips too low it can cause you to overeat or make unhealthy choices later on.
These days i have a big breakfast/lunch and a small dinner and just snack in between. What you eat is also important.
I still don't get hte ppl who say eating only once a day is healthy and I know too many ppl like that...its annoying!
5 times, tiny breakfast-cereal, midmorning snack like grapes or some fruit, healthy lunch like soup or that progressive canned soup if i don't have time, healthy snack, workout is a must! and then i try to get a tiny dinner in before 8-that seems like a lot but i'm pretty fit so i guess it's all about portion size
don't know how they do the whole 6 small healthy meals a day, i've checked online on some of the meal plans and it seems like you're eating all the time.....
ok i see why that would be beneficial and prevent us from eating tempting foods like cheese puffs<----i stay the farthest away from them, they're made by the devil and taste tooooo good
