how many sets

how many gold sets are fine for jahez

4 or 5?

and brides do u buy some chains , lockets sets ,karas and some small earing a for dailly wear???

Re: how many sets

4 or 5 gold sets? And then daily wear on top of that? Are you serious? Totally unnecessary in my opinion.

Honestly its whatever you see yourself wearing, but 4-5 sets are ok (I would suggest small ones though not heavy). I'd be happy with just 3 small sets, a simple chain with pendant and earrings for everyday use, perhaps a kara set, and bangle set. Thats what i would do if and when I get the chance... :)

Re: how many sets

well i think its useless to get heavy sets..because i wont really wear them. . small sets and simple chain with pendent and earings would be better

plus i would get bangles and kara set...

Re: how many sets

okay so this is what i’m getting;

one big set to wear at my shadi.. (i’m also concidering wearing an gold-plated one instead as gold is soo freaking expensive!)

3 meadium sized sets - these won’t be that heavy.. like this set..

10 small sets - simple chain with pendent and earings..

also i don’t really wear karas, so i’ll have a pair of gold plated and buying a few simple bracelet..

I did 2 really heavy ones.. 1 for my shaadi and the other as a gift from family. Then I got 2 medium size sets as well. I got a set of 5 choorian that are quiet heavy as well. I feel bad now because I spend so much money getting my shaadi ka necklace that now sits in my locker :(.. I use the medium sets quiet often so getting medium to small size sets is a good idea!

Re: how many sets

Yea, i got many medium sets as a gift from parents..
Then 4, 5 sets from the in-laws.. MashAllah i have loads and don't wear them that often.
And yes my heavy shaadi sets are jus sittin thr too, but i do try to wear everything.. When im invited somewhere i do try to wear my gold jewellery.
So, basically it just depends. There's nothing like u have to get ths many sets... You shud do what ur comfortable with :)

Re: how many sets

I think it depends on the life style of the family you are marrying in to, how much of a social life they have & what style of dress they have.

My father's family is very social, we have several family weddings this year which will be big events, but even without weddings there are lots of social events to go to and the family ladies always wear usli jewelry, though not necessarily gold. If that's the case in your family, buy a variety of sets for different occasions because you'll wear them.

On the other hand maybe they don't have such a social life & don't have the occasion to wear many sets, particularly heavier ones, in which case perhaps its a waste to buy them, particularly considering the cost of gold right now.
