All of our kitchen cabinets are full of all kinds of paanday. Too many to handle. Many are stacked in garage too.
The collection gets bigger when we make friends with someone new and they come to our home first time. Why do desi assume that paandy is the best gift for first time visit to someone’s house. I do not believe in re-gifting so we end up piling them up.
Our subdivision is having a community garage sale , maybe we should put some of them up for sale , but I think I will be doing injustice to someone who lovingly bought that paanda for gifting us.
I am using term paanday in bigger terms , I am including , salad servers , cake servers, nut servers , big pretty serving dishes and trays in paanday too.
Very few desi have good taste of thinking that paanday is the last thing someone will appreciate as a first visit gift. No ?
lol, I have used a lot that I’ve gotten as a gift since we just bought our home 2 years ago and I didn’t have time to go and buy them myself A couple I passed on as gifts … garage sale sounds good :k:
We have panday that are for everyday use, and then we have our 'special' panday which we use for parties/dawats/khatams etc. They all get used at some point.
We've not been gifted panday for a long time, but when we do we usually start using them as otherwise they just sit in the back of a cupboard. Otherwise they get given to a charity shop - might aswell let someone else make some use out of something rather than having it sat at home collecting dust!
For some reason i read this as "how many paraanday do you have?".
behar haal, we have quite a few, perhaps more than we need MA. My parents gave me quite a bit plus gifts ana jana. Sometimes if i know where they got the gift from, i will return it and get something else. Doesnt always work but sometimes. In addition to unwanted panday i now also have decorative home accents, lamps, vases that are clearly regifts. They are not my style and since i dont like them, i hesitate to pass them on. Perhaps garage sale it should be? hmm
I have tonns of bartan and none are matching … husband had his own collection of pots and pans over time … and then I had my stuff from when I lived alone … and after our wedding , while setting up the kitchen , I realized , we have two tawa’s , 6 frying pans , 4 pressure cookers … and so on !
I will have to find a way to reduce the unwanted pots and pans somehow , its taking up al the space
Way toooo many!!! In all of the kitchen cabinets, in the garage, even in the china cabinet…sheesh…and whenever you see mom at macy’s she always looking at the cookware
