not many, ive had a lot of friends who try their hand at the online matrominial and dating stuff, but get some real bad experiences which start off as seemingly great opportunities but only later to widen up and becoming an option nobody wants to avail. I speak of both male and female friends here, experience has been alike.

I had 2 very reasonable families contacted me. SO I say for guys looking for a wife, it not bad.
But I never responded bck to those 2 families. SO I say for chicks looking for hubby,it is not so Good.

I agree with PM .. although I know of 8 such people who are mashallah happily married and they found each other on shaadi.com and nikahsearch.com ...
cant say about the dating type matrimonial sites ... but these two were good ...

A lot of people I know. mA some are married and even have kids now. I think they were the "muslim" matrimonials sites.

i met somebody...but it didn't work out with us, we are still friends and he met another girl frm the same site and isn now married to her (been married for 3 years now)

One hears of "success stories" with these matrimonial sites........however what i'd like to know is how does one access such potential candidates considering that one would probably present one's best "face" rather than show the skeletons in one's closet !
i'm not talking about broader aspects like job etc, but the more finer things like intentions ,motives and agendas ?
Anyone who has actively used such a means to get married would probably be the best advisor here .......anyone on GS ?
Dudes, Alhumdullilah i met my husband online and it will be 4years this year. Life cannot get any better - and i love him to bits. He's my heart and soul and I cant live without him!
We met online in April, got engaged a month later and got married 4 months later...

^ i think u can approach it like any rishtas u get...do ur check up, talk to them, ask questions, meet up, meet the family (of course once a little sure abt them).
'best face' problem ... well thats with anybody...online or off really doesn't matter. u can meet a fake person thrgh ur parents too.

Sheyn , I noticed one common practice in all my friends who got married through matrimonial sites ...
they didnt indulge in unnecessary chatting or developing friendship online first .. coz when that happens , it can leave room for fraud and it could be anyone who you might be discussing your personal details with.
therefore, the key element is to get introduced to the persons family as early as you can, meet them , do some practical research ( like we do for normal rishta's )
and then comes ample opportunity for both sides to find out if the compatibility factor is there ...
its safer this way ...

Actually, her elder brother had posted her profile. He and my dad had a few email and phone discussions and then her brother came over to meet us.
Only after that, I talked to her for a few minutes on the phone. No contact after that, until I & family flew to India to meet her.

I know tonz of of people that have gone that route to get married.. and mA theyre all content and think of it as an amazing resource if you come across people that are serious aswell! believe me theyreve met ALOT of fraudia's

Its hard to mke any dision just through a chatroom - You u gotta know them in person so she what there like, and thenhit the finl step!

Seems like these matrimonial sites are really popular amongst Indians. They have several for every ethnic group.

My cousins....three of them met online. All three are doing great Mashallah! One has a baby, one is pregnant and one is newlywed.
