How many of you would move back

Re: How many of you would move back

I'm moving back after college.. :)

Re: How many of you would move back

She understands urdu, speaks a little (Mein khana pakaraha hun, tum jaarahi tha, things like that). She can’t make long conversations without using english…What is so crazy about that? She is not pakistani, she is dutch…
Me? Yes, mujhe urdu aati hai, I can even read and write urdu, but ppl can hear I’m not pakistani, my urdu is not that fluent…

But would you mind explaining where your love for Pakistan comes from? And what do you love about Pakistan? Would love to hear your views…

Re: How many of you would move back

what is crazy is that after so many years (i guess you’re over 15!) she ain’t fluent in urdu…cause after less than one year i already speak the little you explained, and i’m french (people known to be very dumb at speaking foreign languages)
but don’t worry even pakistani use some english during long conversations…i heard them:D …
what do i love about pakistan?..islamic republic, food, dresses, music, freedom, no obsession for cleanliness, health and law (opposite to Europe and even more america), many kids, few old people…
well some kind of unstressed life…you know “inshallah”…let’s live and pray…

Re: How many of you would move back

My parents used to talk with each other in english…my mum never took an interest in learning urdu, she got married and had children young, so never had the time to learn. If you are learning the language, good for you, but don’t judge others.
I agree on most off the stuff you mentioned, I love the dresses, music, family bonds etc, but food…I mean, I love to cook pakistani food, I eat pakistani food most of the time, but if you’re used to western ingredients, it’s very hard to like the food you get in pakistan. No quality and lot’s of ingredients are hard to find. Mostly I miss the juices, bread, chocolates and biscuits when in Pakistan…

And are you serious about the “no obsession for cleanliness, health and law” thing… Coz that is one of the things I dislike about pakistan…

Re: How many of you would move back

no offense or anything but i could nvr live in pak. I dont mind moving overseas (ie england, Dubai, spain, etc etc)..but i wouldnt be happy living in pakistan.

Re: How many of you would move back

sorry, i was not judging her…
very good point miss this what most wesstern people don’t like about pakistan wether they are from paki origin or not…but this what is the most important for me, taking life as t comes and being happy to live every moment instead of spending time worrying about future and complaining about petty daily things…i found paki more enjoying life, while europeans (especially french)..think about what could be a nice life instead of living it:(

Re: How many of you would move back

can you explain why?
ps, where are you?

Re: How many of you would move back

are you kidding me? islamic republic? sure they consider themselves an “islamic republic” but they dont practice what they claim to be. You can bribe ANYONE into getting what you want. I dont call that islamic at all.

freedom? i dont quite understand what u mean by that. People in pakistan do things behind closed doors.

no obsession for cleanliness, health and law? do u prefer living in a unhygenic dirty country? that is the one major reason i couldnt live in pak. everything is so dirty there.

dont get me wrong…i love to visit. but living there is impossible for me.

Re: How many of you would move back

i live in america. i just cant live in pakistan because of their way of life. Im big on manners and in pak people dont even open the doors for you. Once when i went to pakistan the shop owner looked and me and said “you must be american”. i asked him “what makes u think so”? he said “because you just held the door open for the person behind you”

btw just as a side note…i am a very cultured person. i eat paki food and cook it. i also speak urdu fluently so no…im NOT ABCD for those of you that are thinking it.

Re: How many of you would move back

please calm down sweetie!
in pak no one is looking down on me when i wear hijab, i would never be able to do that in my own country, and it’s easy to find halal meat, and know about prayer time and ramzan schedule…this is what i call freedom, in pak you’re free to be muslim, not in france! (my dauhters, if i hade kids inshallah, would be forced to leave school if they would like to wear hijab :bummer:)
corruption exist everywhere, even in the west, but westerners like us don’t want third world to know it so we’re even more evil at hiding it:D …don’t fool yourself everywhere on this planet life is easy if you have money:)

dirty? depends on the place…NWFP is very clean and beautifull:blush:

Re: How many of you would move back

oh gosh sorry if i seemed hyped when typing that post…i wasnt at all. it is hard to tell someone’s tone by reading a post. I was just organizing my post. that is why i took what u said and made it into questions so that it is easy to follow. i wasnt snapping at you… didnt mean to sound upset or angry .

Re: How many of you would move back

well i think holding the door for a man is quite insulting to macho:D …do you remember if it was a lady or a guy behind…
i’m not paki, and i don’t speak urdu fluently but everyone in pakistan was very respectfull to me, more than in france

Re: How many of you would move back

 i know after i read your second post:)

Re: How many of you would move back

ic..perhaps you consider pakistan as being a “free” country because you can do things there (islamic things) that you couldnt do in france. See im from America and here you can do anything you want..you have religious freedom here. I can wear hijab if i choose 2. there are plenty of masjids here and plenty of halal meat markets as well.

but now i understand why u view pak that way. but id still choose other countries over pakistan to have religious freedom.

Re: How many of you would move back

well what i mean by holding the door is…when you open the door for yourself and you walk through…you wouldnt slam the door on the person face that is right behind you…right? you would keep it open until they held the door for themselves.

also…i open the door open for people before i walk in. like if there is a mother with a baby stroller or if i see someone with a lot of things in their hands. in pakistan that doesnt happen unless they have been somewhat westernized.

Re: How many of you would move back

do you work with hijab in USA?
it’s also about culture…i love pakistanese culture, and that’s why i’d love to live there, but if i can’t have a nice job over there, i’d live somewhere else:blush:

Re: How many of you would move back

 come to paris:D …you’ll see:rolleyes:

Re: How many of you would move back

no i dont wear a hijab…but if i did i wouldnt have a problem. i know many people that wear hijab and they work and do everything any other american would do.

Re: How many of you would move back

lol…why in paris they dont open doors for ppl?

Re: How many of you would move back

not allways we are very stressed people, so many of us end up behaving rude:(
