I have done that at times. Because I figure…that people interpret things differently. And you never know…even if you did not intend to be hurtful…your words or actions could have been misconstrued by the other person/perceived as hurtful. We make mistakes unintentionally as well. So, yes, I have said to people that IF I’ve said anything hurtful…I did not mean to…and I apologize.
