How many of you have been to

any WW II related/important place/es?

Like Normandy,Dunkirk etc?

Re: How many of you have been to

Yes and thier very sombre… the WW1 graveyards are immense and you could walk for hours in there alone…

The world war two sites are equally well preserved.

The best places to go are on French north coast and German Rhineland.

Although the best preserved battle sites are in Russia… :k:

Verdun is reccomended as the best of all the worlds…

you can see WW1 and WW2 sites as well as tour the old and new forts… and when you wanna get away from the horrors of war it has an excellent shopping district and a great cafe culture.

Re: How many of you have been to

Ive been to Dachau, Germany. Saw the infamous Nazi concentration camp and the jails. It was downright awe inspiring and pitious at the same time. Was a great experience overall. The Dachau Mueseum was an incredible experience itself

Dachau is in Germany. South. Right near Munchen (Munich)

:)

Re: How many of you have been to

Went to the former world war 1 battlefields at Ypres/Paschendaele and at Vimy Ridge. Very sombre places.

The Indian war memorial at Neuve Chapelle is particularly poignant, recalling a time before the sectarian tensions of independence tore the subcontinent apart.
