surah al-ahzab explains whtever dress is convenient in which they may be recognized. in my opinion as long as a woman and man are both respectfully covered it is ok. class time

** Surah Al-Nur (the Light) (24:31) in the Quran states: "They (the believing women) should draw their head coverings over their bosoms...". . Surah Al-Ahzab (34:59) states: "O Prophet [PBUH] Tell thy wives and daughters and the believing women that they should put on their outer garments; that is most convenient in order that THEY MAY BE RECOGNIZED (as Muslims) and not be molested." **

I didnt feel the need to reply to topics that had the same subject
I have voiced my view in the other Thread
As for the pending question here
NO
will tht make me a lesser person or a non shareef female or a degrading human being
that i leave for Allah to decide
If i dont feel comfortable with something i dont do it
Same case here, when i step out i dress modestly and i dont feel the need to further cover up !!!
Just wondering..why type of purdha or hijab or burqa yuo are talking about. I the days of Holy Prophet (PBUH) there was never a such thing as we see today in burqa.
(If I remmber correctly) In the days of Holy Prophet (PBUH) the womens used to losely roll a sheet around their body.
"Away from Eyes......Close to Heart"
insaniat...again.....NIQAB IS NOT MANDATORY>>>>>>!!!!
HIJAB IS!!!!
women are told to cover their hair/heads, necks/and bossoms....that is the sunnah....
clear enuff?

There is a HUGE difference in the way men talk to you and look at you if you wear hijaab. They find nothing to gawk at! Its funny that way. You feel super protected. Like there is a shield or as if arms are around you holding people away at a distance.
Your female form is a gift and it is extremely precious. Would you honestly feel safe if there was a great chance that someone was having mischevious thoughts about you?
Hijaab is a priceless gift of knowledge from Allah! You can do all the research you want and act in all the feminist groups but you won’t gain that same amount of esteem and respect or equality that hijaab brings to you.
It’s amazing that Allah subhanahu watallah has given women the KEY to being active equal citizens in society!
Hijaab is there so a woman CAN go out in public and be treated like a respectable citizen..to be able to do all the things she needs to do. Women will be able to be spoken to properly and respectfully and be listened to and heard from whats in their minds and hearts..They will gain prestige this way and not because they have so and so pefect bodily features.
It’s extremely easy to gain attention by the public eye if we flip our hair or walk a certain way…but is that being respectful to ourselves? Are we giving ourselves a fair chance?
Allah knows and has guided women to cover themselves up modestly. You can show your face, its allowed! You’re not at all hindering your status as a woman…you’re not putting yourselves at the will of men either. Infact, you have more power over men when you have CONTROL of what goes into their heads.

in total agreement
hello, senior members
I think the question really should have been how many of us, whether males or females would follow the directives of the Quran regarding interaction between males and females.
Interestingly, in its directives for social interaction between males and females, the quran has started with the directives for men. However, men, generally, ignore those parts of the directives and are more interested in making women follow these directives.
The questions asked should be:
How many of 'us' men would lower their gazes, as directed by the quran, while interacting with women?
or
How many of 'us' females will cover ourselves up, as directed by the Quran, while interacting with men?
Lets correct ourselves, rather than others...
