So how many of these players will manage to be the part of the Pakistan national side in years to come?
Anwar Ali, Jamshed Ahmed, Akhar Ayub really were impressive during the match. Obviously we didn’t witness their performances during the entire tournament but their overall figures are not bad. They shared 39 wickets with an average of less than 15 and strike rate of 22.
When we look back at the history, we find following Pakistani younsters from U19 squads who have managed to make a mark as members of senior side at the International level.
Re: How many of U19 Squad Members will become part of National Side?
If I remain optimistic then max 2, otherwise 0 coz the transition nower days is from domestic - A team and then if you are consistent then you get a chance. so they will have to perform in the domestic games consistently. and thinking Pakistan next tour is to Srilanka, and our current bowlers bowling badly, I hope Jamshed and Anwar make the cut,

atleast half of them will get National cap sooner or later. Important question is how many of them will become permanent player. I would say probably 1 or 2.

Anwar ali should be polished. He looked really really nice bowler and if our seniors put even a tiny bit of efforts in him he can be a world class bowler...

Plz guys dont get Huff-Puff about Anwar, Jamshed or Akther, if I recall Aamir Nazir had the similar deadly in-swingers as well, but he had the problem with the no-balls as well, we didnt do much with him.
I dont see any of them coming to the Int level unless Shoaib, Asif, Rana, Sami and any other fast bowler (currently part of the team) gets injured like gul and is gone for good.
Re: How many of U19 Squad Members will become part of National Side?
Well it depends upon how they perform in the future and the hard work they put in themselves.
By good performances in the under 19 World Cup does not mean that these players will go and play for Pakistan in the future. Yes there is a potential for some of the bowlers i.e. Anwar, Jamsheed & Akhtar Ayub look promising and exciting. These guys have got so much natural talent which needs to be polished off and need to be given the proper coaching, guidance and handled properly otherwise they may be wasted.
This is an area where Pakistan is behind the likes of Australia & England who provide the necessary facilities, training methods and the best coaching possible for their promising cricketers.
However unfortunately I have not seen any batsmen from the current under 19 squad who have looked good enough to make the senior team.
Re: How many of U19 Squad Members will become part of National Side?
Pakistan needs to develop these guys, India has already picked Piush Chawla. India did same with Yuvi, Tendulkar, Kaif, Pathan in past and this paid rich dividends.
These guys need to be picked before cynicism on first class cricket takes away the energy they have...
