Whenever I see tanning stores or bronzers at stores, I immediately look past it, because I think of it as a white girl’s thing; No matter how “gori” a desi girl is, I didn’t think she would ever use a bronzer or go tanning…however as I follow some makeup blogs I’m noticing some desi girls or arab/persian girls use bronzers as a holy grail to look tanner…even though they themselves are naturally “desi brown” color…
Therefore I was wondering if any desi girls here go tanning or use bronzers???

I don't know any. I myself look over or dismiss bronzers or tanning products. :/

Bronzers are not bad ladies. They are good (when you use the appropriate shade the right way) to contour cheekbones, jawlines and noses.

Yes, I use a bronzer (Laguna by NARS or the loose bronzing powder by Clinique) and I use it to contrast as opposed to have a brown contoured streak of brown. I dont really contour, just apply it VERY lightly below my blush, in the hollows of my cheek and as far back as possible. If done right, it adds a glow to your face without making you actually tan or darker. Using the right formula (Laguna is really fool-proof and easy to work with b/c it is not pigmented heavily) and right brush make all the difference (I use a #168 by MAC or the F40 by Sigma which is a dupe for the MAC 168).

I use and like bronzer, not to look tanner, but because it gives dimension to the face and looks healthier especially if you're already fair, it just has to be light enough to look natural and not applied all over the face

love bronzers! but wouldnt do tanning... perhaps just my legs,, cuz i hate when legs so much lighter than rest of body lol but i still wont go for tanning...ever! :p

I've seen desi girls use bronzer (wouldn't go near it myself) and it looks ok, but tanning looks terrible. Some desi girls do it and it gives their skin tone like this orangey hue, it's absolutely horrible, you can be the lightest Asian ever, it just does not work.

Ditto, south asians should not go tanning since most of it ends up looking Snooki-esque and orange!
