I am using Zafrani Reserve Rice for making Biryani, I soak the rice for 10 min before boiling, is it ok or I have to soak it for more time, and how long u boil the rice for perfect Biryani with long grain of rice.

depends on the rice but generally 45 minutes to an hour would be good enuf! :)

TIP: don't use **'too hot' OR 'too cold' water...soak in water at room temperature!

Actually it depends on the rice , how much soaking they require.
Last time the rice that my husband got from the market, were really good and needed only 10 mintues of soaking to soften up .. but this time the rice that husband got , seem to give better results if its soaked for at least 45 minutes to an hour.
and the cooking time also depends on the quality of the rice .. put them in boiling water on high heat .. when the top rice start dancing, check one of the bits and see if its almost 90% cooked .. if it is , then you drain them and let the rest of the 10% cooking time get done on "dum"

I soak rice from 45 min to 1 hour.
If I am in a hurry then I will soak it for 15-20 min

i have stopped soaking the rice. when i used to soak them, it would be b/w 10 -20 mins, never more.

Whenever I soak for more than 10 minutes my rice turn mushy, so I only do it for 5-10 mins.

I also use Zafrani, usually soak them for 25 to 30 minutes.

i soak rice for 10-15mins n then put it in boiling water for 5mins

Either u soak rice and reduce the amt of boiling water, depending on how long u have soaked it for. Forexample...if u soaked it for an hour, u dont need thst much water for boiling. Etc...
Or u dontsoak and make sure there is enough water to boil it to perfection.
I only wash it and go straight to boiling.

10 to 20 mins is always fine with variety of rice I used. Then i put it in boiling water as CB has said. Even if you soak more it should not matter much specially for biryani as you have to boil it separately, but if you get to soak rice for more time just keep check that they may get tender early on boiling.

No just room temperature water..
