We’ve sent all the necessary documents for my mother in laws visitor visa and they went to apply today. They were told that they would be contacted in 4 or 5 days. How long do you think it would take from here to actually get the visa stamp. We need her here quite urgently.

Visit visa shouldn't take long
Dad applied for grandma to come here as permant resident and the process was abt 5-6 months
visit would be less than that
but also depends if the person sponsoring is a permenant resident or citizen
I am talking abt US here becoz i m assuming u r talking abt US (u didnt say???)

Sorry its for UK and my husband and I are sponsoring her jointly for a visitors visa.

Visit visas are processed within 10 working days for the UK.

Erm no it doesn’t take 6 months at all. Perhaps you had to appeal against a refusal?
Anyway tabassum, check http://www.britishhighcommission.gov.uk/servlet/Front? for yourself where it clearly states non settlement visas are processed within 10 working days.

We just received news she got her visa today. :bhangra: Two weeks exactly.
