How long should an anwser to a proposal take?

I proposed a girl last week. :smiley: Since then I havent heard anything :frowning: How long should something like take? Its making me nervous now. :naraz: How do I get this ‘problem’ out of my mind?

it depends .......... but according to what i've heard & experienced if a girl is interested in a guy ( so much so that she expects a proposal is on it's way) + her family knew her wishes and that guy propose her , she don't take that long to say yes ( some respond spontaneously others take a little time )............... but if a girl take too long that maily point towards these reasons,
- she wasn't serious about the guy
- she wasn't sure that the guy was serious
( so no prior expectations regarding a proposal)
- her family didn't know about about her wishes ( so she has to convince them)
- she wasn't ready to marry

how long has it been? and was this proposal through the family or did you propose to her directly?

depends .......how well do u know this girl and family....what is ur history w. them?

i think a few weeks is fine its a big decision...i woudnt want to rush into anything...once u say yes u cant go back and i would need time to weigh all my options! its FOREVER after all!!!

maybe give her a courtesy call and say "are u guys still pondering my offer over..just wondering just let them know they can take thier time making such an important decision" this lets them know u care maybe it will even work in ur favor??!! good luck

depends on the person . for example, i take time making decisions , and my sister makes decisions immediately
could be any reason

If u proposed her directly, i would have expected an answer either on the spot or in abt a day or two... a week is indeed a long time, sadly. now if ur family had sent a proposal to someone then that would have been a different story. i know someone who took as long as 8 months, believe it or not (which i personally thought was just crazy).

it takes timeeeee to think....if you really love her give her months to think....lol....liken seriously do keep in touch with each other.....let her give you an answer instead of you asking her again....:o

Man, I feel bad saying this, but you should move on. Also, credit and background checks can take some time. :)
