I will be going to pakistan 3 weeks before my wedding (OCT)
How long do designers take to get a bridal lengha made?
Will they be able to do it in 3 weeks?
depends who the designer is and what u are wanting to order, for eg very heavy bridal or less kaam on a bridal etc..............if its custom they may want to show u the lengha in stages to ensure it is to ur specifications...........if ur ordering one from collection that will be quicker. but 3 weeks is not a enough time.
I most probably will order one from a collection but have amendments made to it eg style, colour etc
I really hope i have enough time cos i know it'll be wedding season there!

You'll be lucky if you get anything done in three weeks...!! I am going almost 3 moths ahead of time. Not only is it wedding season in lahore, its "super" wedding season because Moharram starts in a few months after and people are getting married left and right! lol..
I'm gonna try and get my sister to go early! and have a look
My only problem is work - i just about got 7weeks off and i want to spend at least 4 weeks after the wedding with in-laws as i wont be living with them after wedding.
I wish i could just take 3 months off and go now!!!

What city in Pakistan? Lahore? And when in October is it?
i'd rather spend time shopping and find something perfect for ur special day! lol

im not sure about faislabad.. but in karachi.. gulf pe they take 1 month .. bakke jagah pe 3 months.

Hi, does anyone know if i can have a custom made lengha from pindi/islamabad in about 1 week i am going on the 5th april and my wedding is on the 15th april. I really dont want a ready made lengha as i have my heart set on a custom made one. I cant go before to get my lengha and im not sure if i trust anyone to get it made for me before i get there, any advice please???

I dont think you will be able to get a lehnga made in just one week. In fact, people think three weeks is not enough...mine is taking over a month and Ive got someone there working on it. You will compromise the quality of the work if you dont give them enough time to work on it.
If you cant take the time to go...get one ready made. You dont want to spend money on a custom made outfit and then have the stitching come undone...

1 week is definetly not enough, it takes longer than 1 week to get a custom casual suit made so no one will take on that order unless you pay them triple if not more of the original price.

What exactly about a custom wear do you have your heart set on? that noone else will have that type of outfit? Or you think it's better quality?
alot of girls go wanting tog et ustom desigsn but they fall in love with all the variety that htey order a ready-made dres. Plus most shops that hae lenghas can get you the same outfit in different colors if you want (not sure how much time that would take) ..g ood luck

if you are talkin from scratch.. choosing your own design, fabric, embroidery etc... i would say.. minimum 3 months.. mine took 5 months.

uuuuuf thats much time...who has 3 or 5 months time to go to pak.... and telling others to do it...its never how u wanted that !
one week for a custom made lengahs?!!....not long enough in my opinon. pehaps if you have a designer in mind and confirm it with them beforehand that they can complete it in time for you then you should be ok.
i'm going for roughly 3 weeks and think that itself may not be enough. am gonna go for the ready made option....theres so much variety out there.
if your goin lahore then check out the best places to go shopping. i've been trawling through the threads and looks like liberty market a v good place to start.

Thanks for all your replies, The reason for a custom made lengha is that I have been looking for a lengha for ages and haven’t found the exact one I want, but whichever ones I do like, I pick out certain parts of them that I like the most, the colour of one, embroidery of another, material of another and so on…:o
So now I have an idea of what I want and have my heart set on it and also my in-laws have told me to choose my lengha so that’s 2 lenghas I need to get made!
I’ll see if I can find anyone who can make my custom made lengha from Pakistan by the end of March and will also have to see the variety in Pindi/Islamabad and get a ready made one, would love to go Lahore but its far and wont have that much time.
I hope to get one lengha out of the way at least that will leave me with a bit more time for other things when I get to Pakistan Insha’Allah.

basically getting a lengha made will take about 2 weeks, if you are willing to pay the price for faster service then you say give then 10 days maximum and you will have it done in 14days from my expereience in faislababd. I am inshallah getting married there in the summer. My friend had hers made from faislabad [d-ground] from tch last year and this is how long it took. I am going to have maximum 2 weeks for mine so am going for ready-made collections and having alterations on mine as will have too much to worry about on top of everything else. Anyway it is up to you, in my experience it should be okay from what i have seen but i would be nervous of such a small time scale to have lengha made from scratch.

tharwah email thsi designer afsheen shes in lahore email her or talk to her over the phone she does amazing bridals. can be custom made to what u want u do really have very less time and its too short to get it made unless u pay quite a bit or pick up something from a shop which again might not be too bad
