Okay, so I love my shoes. More than that, I love adding to my shoe collection and I hate throwing my shoes out because then I lose a pair from the collection.
How many seasons or years do you get your shoes to last? Do you take your shoes in to a cobbler/shoe repair store to preserve the longevity of your shoes or do you treat your shoes like disposable objects and toss them after one or two seasons?
I buy a new pair of closed-toe black booties or short boots every fall because I find wearing the shoes through the fall/winter season is really damaging. The salt stains and deep scrapes and scuff marks, as well as the wearing down of the heels/risers means the shoes look terrible after 7-8 months. By then it’s summer and I wear my summer sandals which get less wear on them.
I will take my black booties in to the shoe repair guy at least once to replace the heels/risers or to line the soles and polish the shoes.
For the rest of my go-to-work shoes which I wear anywhere from once a week to maybe once a month, I have some shoes that are 6-7 years old, the shoes are in pristine condition and if needed, I will take the shoes in to have the heels/risers replaced.
I have so many shoes and I wouldn't throw a single pair away cos I love them all. I have mine brand new, few months, a year, two years and even three year old shoes and they still look right on trend and not outdated at all. It depends on how you wear them as well. xx
My heels last years but then again I only wear them on nights out and for special occasions.. except a pair I bought 3 months ago for £500+, pink Andrea Cancellieri platforms, ankle strap broke the second time I wore them
