How long after should you call...

I was called in for an interview by a company some four days before.They are hiring for their new branch office which would be opening after 20 days or so. They told me they would call me for a second interview,and also, the interviewer gave me his visiting card to follow-up with him.
Also, someone i knew was called in for an interview by the same company, but she was called in for a senior managerial position,and today she received a call for a second interview.
So, should i call / email him to follow-up or should i wait for few more days? What you people suggest?

yeah give it a week... call them next week to find out.

a week is a good number. So If I had an interview on Tuesday, I will call them next Tuesday, after lunch, for the followup.

But, just have a doubt. What is a better way to follow - up!? Calling up or sending an email?
