How late would you...

… allow your kids (teenagers) to stay out at night?

I know of a pakistani lady who used to lock the doors at 10 PM so if any of her 3 sons weren’t back home by 10 PM they had to sleep at a friend’s house. :rotfl:

Then I know of others who don’t mind how long their kids stay out for, as long as they know what they’re up to. I heard one of em saying “you gotta let the bird fly out of the nest at some point”.

So what kind of time limits would you set for your kids?

Re: How late would you...

When I was a teen, I had to be home before dark, which sometimes meant about 4:30pm (but then when it's that cold out, you WANT to get home as quickly as possible). In long summer days, where sun didn't set until 9pm, my mom preferred me home by 8pm.

I wouldn't differentiate between my son or daughter. Same curfew. I don't know there is this saying I guess, when the sun goes down, the devil comes out to play or something. I would prefer them to come back home early. Like 9 or 10 PM. I am saying 9 or 10 PM since that's when my mum wants me home too. Fairly reasonable time 10 PM. Anything more than that, they would either have to be with the family outside or have a good reason why they are outside and let me know about their whereabouts.

We didn't really follow a curfew but she didn't allow us to be out after dark unless it was special circumstance. In college years it was different as my brother and sister went to library and came back home quiet late and she was fine with that.
