This thread if for all my artist pals and how they stepped into world of Art (drawing/painting/photography etc etc).
Here’s my first encounter (if I can recall correctly):
It was in Pakistan when I was young. Before I used to go to school, we used to watch TV early in the morning. There was this program and its host was Mustansar Hussain Tarar. After his 30 minutes program, they used to aire this exercise program. In it, they showed 3D images of some positions when doing exercise to show you exactly how you should look when doing the same exercise. That is when I started drawing. I used to look at those 3D images and draw them just for the heck of it. I showed it to some friends in school and they were all impressed so I did more. Ofcourse if I showed the same images now, they’d look crappy but considering the time and my age, I think they were alright. Those were the first images which I drew. Then I moved on to random things which interested me: plane flying, birds, trees, etc etc.
Then ofcourse they used to aire Pink Panther after this exercise program, after which we used to leave for school :cb:
me and my sis back in the day used to do pencil drawing competition of a dulhan with all the jewlery and costume.. :) and mine was always the winner // :) thank you...
it was just magical to me always.. the long summers of pakistan when the whole house would sleep ..i would take my paper and pencil and just draw draw draw... it was an escape for me to another place.. it felt right.
I loved drawing from when I was a child, and then when I found photoshop, it was like gfx artist's heaven.
do you get the same satisfaction from a mouse click that u would get from a pencil or brush stroke physiically in ur hand.. ..i somehow find that hand drawing is more personal than photoshop
I do remember spoting my notebook with my drawings and what not when I went back to Pakistan in 2001. I should’ve just brought it with me. I hope it is still there and if it is, I will definitely share my memories from years back on GS :k:
