I am currently an AT&T Wireless customer. I am planning to upgrade to a tri-band GSM cellphone. However I dont seem to like any of the triband GSM phones on offer currently by AT&T. However, I do like some of the phones provided by T-mobile(eg. Nokia 6610) and Cingular(e.g. Nokia 6100). I have heard that T-mobile is terrible in the bay area. That leaves me with Cingular. Does anyone know how is the call quality, service etc. of Cingular in the Bay Area. I am considering switching to CINGULAR and your inputs will help me finalize my decision.
I am from Bay Area too. I have friends who use Sprint, Xingular, AT&T, Verizon and recently one of my friends switched to T-Mobile from MetroPCS. He has also heard bad things about T-Mobile and going to switch again.
AT&T, Verizon or Xingular are all good and give better coverage in Bay Area.
I use Sprint because my whole family and friends use it. I get unlimited PCS to PCS minutes.
SJ Mercury News had a review of cellphone carriers some time ago; and gave both Cingular and T-Mobile failing grade for coverage, dropped calls and poor reception. Verizon, AT&T and Sprint are ok for coverage in the Bay Area.
Cingular in the bay area is not good, the reception is choppy...
From what I've heard, Verizon and AT&T are the best in the bay area. Verizon's coverage is considered the best and works on heights where AT&T doesn't work *.
Verizon's customer service is also good...
but Verizon is a tad bit more expensive than AT&T...*
