how important . .

Re: how important . .

I think designer stuff is like gold. People used to wear gold to show off their wealth but the branded bags and shoes etc have replaced it probably due to their convenience.

Re: how important . .

^That's a good comparison actually - cos designer stuff that's vintage/classic doesn't go out of fashion and ususally keeps its value better than the main stream stuff

Re: how important . .

A Honda Civic is far more cost effective (both price and fuel efficiency) than a Corvette. A Civic, when driven with non-lead foot, will get you almost same fuel efficiency as a hybrid.

Re: how important . .

one thing that brands can do however is give you some idea of price/fit/quality ratio. in the long run it saves effort. I know which brands jeans fit me the best, or shoes, or suits. I may go and try different stuff if i like the look and then decide based on fit and feel, but I have my default options for jeans, chinos, suits, shirts.

The thing that I find more annoying is the initials on shirt...aray baba..yeah you paid 10 bucks extra to get your initials on your shirt, why can't it be on the hem or the cuff as civilized gents would do, why flash it right on the chest..

speaking of brand crazed fools/tools, certain individuals...whom i noted in an earlier post would casually grab your tie and flip it over to see the brand, or try to do the same with a coat. I got so annoyed one time that I just said, should i unzip so you can check the label of my jockstrap too? (the term jockstrap was used on purpose btw :D) and they got the hint. an entire family of cheapskates.

This ^

I will spend if the item is worth it…in terms of quality. Meaning its durable and looks nice too. I’ll spend on that.

Don't care.
