The plot, NYC lifestyle, The bar culture etc they have a lot of similarities yet both of them convey a very different message and that's the whole point of it.

How I Met Your Mother is, and will always be, an absolute favorite of mine. I love each and every character. However, they say that they copied it from FRIENDS. I just started watching FRIENDS, and I am loving it, too.
