How has the World Changed since the 9/11 Attacks?

It is being 5 years since the terror attack of 9/11. I wanted to know how Guppies think world has changed since the attack on United States.

For me personally, we now know what the problem is, which was mainly pointed out to be fascism that only exists in Islam. That is not true; we can have fanaticism from a country and their blind ideology that can also kill hundreds and thousands of people. Are we going to see peace in next five or ten years? Probably not but 5 years ago I did not imagine the world this much in turmoil.

Re: How has the world changed since the 9/11 attacks?

...and oh yeah, Bush is still an idiot.

Re: How has the world changed since the 9/11 attacks?

for me personally,it changed a lot,it mean't that i could not go back to america to live there permanently.a year after 9/11,I remember walking into a bank in new york city with a pakistani passport to open a bank account and being asked too many questions, a lady stading behind me turned toward me and said that this world is not going to be same again.thats right this world will never be the same again, america will never be the same again.i remember living in america in the 90s back then most people there did'nt know nothing about pakistan or muslims and now everybody knows about it and its just not the same.

Re: How has the world changed since the 9/11 attacks?

world will never be the same again

Re: How has the world changed since the 9/11 attacks?

Muslims are being nice for one or utterly naïve and as a unified nation in this world, we have a huge task to make sure that we enable our self-proclaimed enemy or vice versa, to look within and see what is wrong with them

a friend of mine suggested this idea, and i want to write a paper on it and will welcome authentic impartial views on it, as to why there is so much hunger, greed and an uncontrollable desire to police the world, according to their own motives, is so perpetual in the Caucasian race. u look from France, Australia, UK, Russia, & to the U.S. and you will see that particularly for Muslim states, most of the govts in these countries are anti-Muslims.

they do damage control to yet again accomplish their next to last self serving agenda.

and to make Muslims a escape-goat, they conveniently rig our faith, our culture, our people of their value as something that is existing or able to exist, only as how they are made to. & no body should do this to anybody else.

so, it is of course true that things are worsening, the sad part is, those who crafted the conspiracy against Muslims are still believing that they can blame Muslims.

for that matter, how many 9/11s are happening due to the US in Muslim countries.

I am not condoning anyone who partakes in blood shed of any civilian or any side/s, but in order to take others into confidence, the parties MUST be transparent and not be shadowy.

the issue is that US is not trust worthy any longer.

and for every body's survival and sovereignty, nations lose and nations win.
the ideal situation should be a peaceful accord to be discussed and implemented on fair basis.
other wise
it is a second coming... & perpetual fear of uncertain lives of us all.

Re: How has the world changed since the 9/11 attacks?

One thing has changed for sure
North America and Western Europe are slowly turning in to fascist police state.

Re: How has the world changed since the 9/11 attacks?

The world has changed permanently, for the worse. Many innocent Muslims are not reluctant to travel for fear of being harrassed or arrested unjustly and thrown into prison. I had long wanted to visit the US, to see the sights I had read so much about, the historical sites I had spend 3 years studying.

Now in all likelyhood I shall never visit the US, not for 20 years certainly, until this mess dies down.

I dont blame the US for being cautious, for reacting how it has with its security policy. But it has made this world so much more inconvenient for me.

Re: How has the world changed since the 9/11 attacks?

It's given me the opportunity to understand fear from a non-muslims perspective.

It's given me the opportunity to speak about my faith, as its so much in the forefront.

It's given me an opportunity to dispel certain incorrect notions about my faith.

It's given me an opportunity to get to know people on a different level.

Before 9/11 people thought the worse of muslims but didnt let others know about it. After 9/11 people think even worse of muslims, but they are speaking out about it.

This world has always had life-altering events in every century, this century is not going to be any different. The only difference is the players. Just my view.

Re: How has the World Changed since the 9/11 Attacks?

This video pretty much sums up my feelings about this issue :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: How has the World Changed since the 9/11 Attacks?

The Americans have flopped in a big way...they want to integrate Muslims but since 9/11 the wedge between the West and Muslims has become even bigger...exactly the opposite of what they wanted to achieve...
Its a time of increased awareness for Muslims...

Re: How has the World Changed since the 9/11 Attacks?

umm how da world has changed....lets seee....all da mosque in my city are being monitored.....muslim guys on goverment payroll spying on other muslims...everyones in fear....non muslims look at muslims differently

Thing called freedom is OVER specially in USA..thank god i dont live there :)

Re: How has the World Changed since the 9/11 Attacks?

It forever changed the belief that Americans held, that they are untouchable. The notion they held that they could go around bully any nation they like, and no one would be able to touch them on their own land, has been destroyed.

And it instilled fear into the heart of Americans.

It was a time of a great trial. Some passed and proved their belief in Allah, others failed and their hypocricy was revealed. This goes out to the scholars, the rulers and as well as the general public.

Islam spread after 911.

Re: How has the World Changed since the 9/11 Attacks?

The world has changed alot!
For non-muslims, All the muslim are now equal, they use words such as terrorists when talking about us. (Like the incident took place with South Africa's 1st muslim cricketer). What I have seen from my experience is that Muslims have lost respect in non-muslims eyes. Idiot leaders like Bush wanna destroy Islam, do u know why? Because Islam is Haq! Islam is truth.

Re: How has the World Changed since the 9/11 Attacks?

Be careful that your heart doesn’t burst with pride. While your hypocritical belief may be correct, perhaps you should consider two things:

  1. How has this action affected US policy, is it bullying more or less?

  2. Who is living with more fear today, the average american, or the average muslim living in the west… or muslim anywhere for that matter?

Re: How has the World Changed since the 9/11 Attacks?

The only muslims who are living in a state of fear are the ones living in the west, preffering non muslims lands over muslim countries. In the muslim world, i dont see people living in a state of fear.

Now the West on the other hand is gripped in a state of fear and the battle front has expanded to Canada and UK and Australia.

The muslim countries were being bombarded anyways, so we dont care. Its you guys who were living in a sence of security, and now all of a sudden the battle front has reached your door step. :)

Re: How has the World Changed since the 9/11 Attacks?

9/11 proved in the eyes of the world that BUSH is an IDIOT:chai:

Re: How has the World Changed since the 9/11 Attacks?

yaar all the cute desi guys got deported to canada and pakistan after 9/11 :(

Re: How has the World Changed since the 9/11 Attacks?

I think you’re deluding yourself. Muslim immigration to the US is at an all time high. Even with supposed “Islamophobia”, they apparently feel safer here than they do living in fascist theocratic muslim societies. Rather than living in a state of security or “un-fearfulness”, I think it’s safer to assume that people living in the muslim world are actually living in a state of ignorance. You are aware that literacy in muslim countries is at the bottom of the barrel right?

Really? Each of these countries has continued to grow and prosper economically and technologically.

Last time I checked, the battlefront was in Afghanistan and the heart of the Middle East. If the avg Iraqi or Afhani knew you were pretending to speak for them, and saying “we don’t care” I’m certain they would spit in your face. Add to that the fact that you live in Canada and that just makes you the ultimate hypocrite.

Re: How has the World Changed since the 9/11 Attacks?

Non-muslims look at Islam differently then they used to, as a matter of fact I have seen a lot of people converted to Islam and I think it is a consequence of 9/11 tragedy which made many to be interested in learning about Islam.
