FF, depends on where you live. I say that because of ethanol in gasoline (ethanol content in gas varies from place to place). Ethanol combines with acetone and reduces its effectiveness as a vaporization additive.
I have used it and even though i wouldnt say the mileage increased signifcantly (not 30%), but i would say i added 2-3 (highway) miles to my mpg.
Also, make sure you use PURE acetone (not the diluted type) which also goes by the name dimethylketone (ch3-ch3-c=o). you can buy it at the store (1 gallon costs about $10-12)
to every 5 gallons use 1/2 ounce (ball park).
Caveat: just keep it away from paint. it eats paint, and is flammable and may corrode the seals in your engine.

Ms Fatale it might be hard to believe but i have a life outside gupshup too sadly :p And like all other human life forms Captain Lota too needs to regenerate. Okay i found that piece of info just yesterday and still havent tried it out and im still kiiiiinda skeptic about it although whatever info ive googled up on it so far seems to be on the positive side. The optimum amount of acetone is different for each car so thats something that has to be figured out by yourself by trial and error. Usually its in the order of 2 ounces per 10 gallons of gasoline.
Its great to see other people who have been touched by Gupshup. One thing i forgot to mention initially that Ms Phatima1 mentioned is that gupshup has helped many of us get closer to our roots i.e. culture and religion. And also helped wipe out ignorance about people of other races/ethnicities etc.
well it ahs affected my life really badly ebcause all the time i used to spend on a job search I now spend on GS and will go broke soon. uffffffffffffffffff
I have met several guppies face-to-face and it has always been a pleasant experience.
But the greatest benefit I had from Gupshup was, that on Gupshup I found information related to a scheme of a Pakistani computer college wanting to hire foreign IT professionals on a temporary basis.
And I took this opportunity to spend the most wonderful 6 months of my life in Lahore.
So for me this thread had a huge impact on my life.
Thank you Dope and Lota. I think I will just let my car run on gas alone. That sounds way too complicated and a little dangerous. I don;t think my dad will be happy to see corroded engine seals(whatever they are) or peeling paint!
and i have to say that gupshup changed my life…totally in a few months:blush: …i really see the world differently…especially cause i flew 5000km from home to visit guppies:D …
