How good are you at giving Reality Shots to other people you care for?

shots, i said, not as in substance shots, but as in injection shots…

when people are afraid and cannot state clearly what they want and where they want be & how they will get to that decision making or action taking mode, do u feel good in ‘snapping’ them out of the ‘state of nowhere’?

what is the best way, you have ever convinced someone of what is best for them, without making them feel like you are deimposing ur ideas on them?

feel like sharing, please do so.

talk to them sincerely... :-)

Re: How good are you at giving Reality Shots to other people you care for?

I usually don't interfer in others business but when I feel they are heading for hell, I give them my say in their chosen pursuit.

I am as blunt and honest as possible, I don't do what you call 'beat around the bush' to explain what I am trying to say to them, I'm vivid as clean glass. I'll list out all the pro's and con's to them and give them my say as to what I feel as a third person (after taking into consideration their circumstances, their surroundngs and their options) what/how they should change their habit of lifestyle for their benefit. To make them feel at ease and not as if I'm trying to impose myself onto them, I make sure I give them lots of examples as to when I myself have been in similiar and perhaps even worse situations.

At the end of the day, the ultimate decision is always theirs, I cannot force anyone.

thanks folks, all are nice inputs. of course , sincereity and being straight forward is very impt.
striking the balance, at the right time, is where problem comes in.

it is true it depends on each person's state or mood as in being receptive or not,
and also on the situational parameters.

thanks, again for sharing ur reflections on this.

best,
