Hard question Sara. I don't think I have one friend that thinks exactly like me. Everyone is bit different with what they find ethical or not.
The cookie cutter answer is let people be and don't meddle in other people's lives. But I think it depends on the extent of your friendship.
If a REALLY close friend of mine had these issues, I would step in. Whether he/she liked it or not.
