It makes a big difference walking into a clean home that smells good and you don't feel overwhelmed by the messy buildup. I usually give my place a good scrubbing once a week and the rest of the days dusting, sweeping, dishwashing, etc. Also it helps for when people come over unexpectedly because then we don't have to run around straightening things out before they come in.
