this is a fantastic article laying out problems with our current election/electoral system. Khalid masood knows our election system very well and is pointing out how elections are being managed on the election day. it is not necessarily dhandliee or corruption everywhere rather it is using the whole administrative and bureaucratic system to your advantage…and whichever party is master in doing it and has best polling agents will always has a huge edge.
He is saying that it will be difficult for Imran and PTI to prove dhandliee in 2013 elections but they shd try and more importantly shd continue focusing on inducting necessary modifications into our current election system

The system is all corrupt and full of flaws and loopholes…if today Raheel sharif takes over and conduct elections, his candidates will win ‘in free and fair elections’. And no one can prove that the polls were a farce. As far as the main political parties are concerned, it’s not in their interest to reform the system. Especially Pmln which has a good chance of securing another win in 2018, with a weak opposition in the shape of PPP and discredited Pti.

Before elections 2013 , Khalid Masood used to say in his columns that PTI would sweep Multan and whole Saraiki Belt with minimum 30 seats from only this area and now he is trying to prove this point that the whole electoral system is for the corrupts only to win and ‘Innocent’ candidates of PTI dont know the ABC of electoral dynamics so they lose every time despite having Shah Mahmood Qureshi from same Multan area whose family having experience of such tactics since 1857 War of Independence !
After defeat in the most educated and sort of burger class areas of Lahore Cantt and Walton Cantt thats makes up 95% of NA-125 of Saad Rafique constituency, Sialkot Cantt thats makes up major portion of Khawja Asif constituency and biggest defeat in Rawalpindi/Chaklala Cantt where Imran Khan himself elected in 2013 and where PML-N won 19 wards out of 20 and 1 ward by Jamat-e-Islami (complete white wash of PTI) and now Mr.Khalid Masood is of the view that this whole electoral system is corrupt to the core since its not elected PTI candidates ! Even in KPK PTI got only 33% wards
On 6th May , Supreme Court have summoned Najam Sethi and other officials of Punjab former care taker Govt and Najam Sethi told yesterday that he will gonna blast PTI and IK in SC over allegations of 35 punctures and now Mr.Khalid Masood suddenly realized that noting will come out of all rigging drama of 6 months !
At least expecting from columnist like Khalid Masood to show some sportsmanship and ponder upon the policies of PTI and its performance in KPK that even stronghold and posh areas of Pak have turned against him

you have made some interesting points…PTI’s defeat in posh and urban ares in recent cantonment elections is certainly something khalid masood did not talk about.
