Can someone please educate me on how and when to use correctors?
What colour for what impact?
Alone or with foundation to cover?
I purchased the palette from MAC after I watched the woman show my friend how to cover some patches that she has on her face but I didn’t really pay attention to what colour she was using and the explanation for why… :halo:

From what I know, orange or peach correctors can cancel out the blue which is mostly good for under eye area. I tried yellow but it jist made the dark circles more prominent. It didnt cancel anything out but using a yellow based setting powder does brighten. I use eve pearl and bobbi brown peach corrector for my dark circles. Green cancels out the redness so it would be ideal for acne or a pimple or any redness. Purple is used for making sallow complexion come to life. I do have a yellow undertone and I've tried the smash box a while back and it was nice. Again I'm not an expert. This is just experimenting and driving other mua at sephora and makeup counter crazy.

Only correctors I believe is in an orange/green
(O = for under eye to diminish the dark circles. G = to cut the red around the nose/mouth)
I don't use anything yellowish since to me the look starts looking mucky in a few hours
ps: MAC has a good one called 'pure orange', not sure about the green one.

Kryolan has an amazing green one.. don't know the name. Mufe has a corrector pallete which is the bomb.

I use the orange one by Kryolan for under eye circles on people who have that blue tinge...it works wonders.
Green is for the redness you see around the nose, mouth and chin sometimes.
EnkoreMakeup did a good tutorial once on it...I'll find it and post it when I get home.

I love the Laura Mercier corrector. It’s a peachy-salmon color and I’ve hit pan with it. I didn’t see it listed on the Sephora website so I hope it hasn’t been discontinued as is the fate of many products I love, :hinna:
I don’t use a concealer. I just use the corrector and my foundation. I’ve heard that correctors should be used with concealers so now I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong… Thought it looks okay to me.

Benefit erase paste, mac concealer palette and eve pearl salon concealers are some others worth mentioning.

I have the orange kryolan corrector as well, and though I really like the final look it gives, I always have trouble applying it. I was told to apply it using a brush, but I've tried it with my fingers too and it just feels really dry and pulls on my skin... any advice on what I might be doing wrong?

Kryolan products can feel that way...when mine gets a bit dry I simply use a hair dryer to make it a bit more soft. Once its softer, its easier to manipulate.
You can use a brush...I always use a brush to apply it on my face, layer the concealer over it and then blend with a damp beauty blender.

since posting this I've noticed that I have less and less need for colour correction thanks to the BioSil supplement that I've been taking.
still there are going to be days when I have to resort to correction and all the advice shared here has been useful.

Muzna, how is biosil with dark circles? Notice any difference? Also, do you think that maybe there are other variables (diet, exercise, less stress) that are contributing to the difference ur seeing?

I’ve never had dark circles so I’m not sure if it helps or not and nothing else in my routine has changed in terms of diet and exercise. If anything, the stress level has only been elevated…

Bobbi Brown corrector is available in lahore so I'm going to assume you'll find it in karachi.
