How easily they turn their backs

In the last couple of days I’ve seen, heard and read about Pakistanis turning their backs on the country because of some unfortunate events. The same Pakistanis who wouldn’t shut up about their patriotism are today being easily manipulated by the mainstream media, politicians and their own emotions. Are these the same people who would run away from the battlefield (if) the situation calls for it? It’s time to rectify ourselves and question ourselves where we stand. Let it not be the enemy who chooses our sides for us, let us decide ourselves where we stand, wherever you want, pick one for the sake of Allah or secularism if that’s your taste.
and for God’s sake stop being apologetic about everything! You have no dignity left in you?!

Re: How easily they turn their backs

yea, never apologise for anything you ever do. have you no dignity? whatever you think dignity is, its not never apologizing.

Re: How easily they turn their backs

If dignity equates to condoning rather than condemning someone’s failings or trying to find ways to absolve them of their flaws... then yes, I’d rather be insolent. My civility will not be wasted on callous and cold-blooded animals!

Re: How easily they turn their backs

I dont see anyone turning their backs. What I do see though, is heartache, disgust and a growing weariness of these "unfortunate events". Its really past the point now where all of these suicide bombings and other blights on society can be blamed on everyone and anyone else - these are problems within the country and getting worse.

The most recent slaughter of innocent people in their house of worship was carried out by so-called "Muslims". No conspiracy theories there, no doubts.

I think this unfortunate event as you call it has served to be a wake-up call. Once the people of Pakistan start standing up to these jihadis (or whatever you want to call them) and rid the country of them and the problems they cause, only then will things get better over there. And it looks to me like maybe the people are beginning to face that fact.

It is high time we put aside emotion and started thinking rationally and logically.

If we keep thinking with our hormones instead of our brains, our problems will never end and we will keep pulling our society into deeper and deeper feces.

We will have to be sincere and objective or only our own country and our own future generations will suffer, there is a problem and it needs sorting out fast...

...Scapegoating, turning a blind eye, seeing only what we want to see, brushing under the carpet, explaining away etc. will not help us.

Re: How easily they turn their backs

secularism?
thats the reason why all this is happening in pakistan. And in my opinion pakistani's arent turning their backs, they are just sick and tired and have nothing in control so i guess they are letting things be?

lol … looks who is saying this… who openly preach hate against Pak Army & country itself.. .. .what are you smoking these days? :hehe:

that is what i am trying to find out.

le me know if u get any clue…i am curious.

Re: How easily they turn their backs

Its not an issue about turning our backs on the country. Some of us will never do that. There are others in Pakistan who believe everything in the West is what life should be like. The sad fact is that they represent only what 0.00001% of Pakistan population. They are by and large a very very very minuscule minority.

Those people aren't really Pakistani. They are American/British/Canadian of Pakistani origin. Hell in Afghanistan people know right off the bat that I am Pakistani. Might be the fact that I speak to all the Afghans in Urdu or Pashto. But that is besides the point.

Pakistani is not an ethnicity. It is a nationality. If you were born to Pakistani parents does not make you Pakistani. Summer vacations in Pakistan every 2 or 3 years does not make you Pakistan.

The fact that your parents decided to move you to Pakistan after Sept 11th and you complain about everything Pakistan does not make you Pakistani.

The only thing that makes you Pakistani is the love you feel for the motherland. The desire to help, the desire to make things better. The ability to see you know what the **** has hit the fan but it will get better.

Half the posters in this thread say they are Pakistani but they aren't. That is the truth.

If you are a Pakistani people know it and its not an issue of if or but.

I mean nobody would ever confuse Firenze for a Pakistani. Not even an red-neck American. He was jumping with joy with the idea that Pakistan maybe a failed state.

Others like myself, CP, hanibal and a few others were adamant we would survive and get out of it. That is being Pakistani. Delusional hope that we will always survive. If you are a Pakistani cricket fan you know exactly what it means to be a Pakistani.

:salute:

That’s what I was thinking lol. Like in the qaumi taraana thread, somebody asked if you know the full song, he said he couldn’t care less?
