Me and my husband have dinner usually together. If he is late then i take some mid time meal and then accompany him in dinner. lunch is only on weekends or on his off days. In my parents’ home we all supposed to be at dinning table at the time of dinner and still this is rule. We now eat at mat

When we were younger we had dinner on the dining table. And no TV! Now we sit in the living room and eat dinner while watching tv.. usually it’s news. 
It is the only time we sit together as a family. Afterwards we clean up together.

in our family we make sure we eat dinner together, there are those odd days when someone will be missing, but 90% of the time it is around 630-700 max and on the table, nothing formal but a proper family dinner time, no tv (we dont even have a TV at home) and no other devices.

I have this relative in Pakistan who will take a try up to each of her children and they eat in their room. She has 4 kids.
Fine, I get not being able to eat as a family because hubby comes home later, lekin yeh tray mein sajhaa ke khaana khilaana, it’s weird. And her kids are 12 - 20 years old.
When we were younger, we ate as a family always at the dining room table and no TV ever.
Once we hit started uni and everyone’s schedules changes, who ever was home at together and the late comers had dinner waiting for them (or we’d delay dinner for them if it wasn’t super late).

Wow trays being delivered to the room Sehrysh, I don’t even think we got pampered with room service like that even when we were sick.

we always have dinner together and tv is turned off so we can talk amongst ourselves and nearly ever family in Pakistan have it together in a dining room.
the only times we dont have it together are when someone is out of the house for any reason. if everyone is inside the ohuse then we have it together.
people here set their dinner time according to the time when everyone returns back from work and universities.
the dinner time for most families here are 9 or 10 and by then everyone is at home for dinner.
