the outside of the container of oil gets sticky icky.
when I shallow fry, the outside of the lid of the pan gets sticky icky…I have no idea how that happens since..its the exterior and oil doesnt touch it???
so how does this happen, and how can I properly clean it? cz i’ve left it to soak in the strongest dish detergent for hours and that doesn’t appear to help.. :hinna:
The oil container...you mean teh plastic bottle it comes in..??...Maybe some spilled while youw ere pouring and did not notice and that made it sticky icky.
The lid ...hmmm maybe because of splattering...?..Because no matter how little oil you use there is some splattering (from what I have observed..!)
For clean up...maybe a little scrubbing...with a scotch bright (sp?) kinda thing...?
If you are talking about what I think you are, I have found that it gets sticky and difficult to clean if the pan is not cleaned immediately and completely. If the slightest oil is there and the pan is used again (like heated) the oil gets all sticky and difficult to remove.
Its the fumes from the oil that get collected on the pots externally .. as the surface becomes slightly sticky it invites more fumes and hence it all piled up..
Do you not have the scorch sponge? just put some Mr Muscle kind of thing on it and scrub the lids lightly and then leave them for 10 minutes .. that should remove most of the fumes … though if left for longer , they become really hard to remove ..
Its basically hardwood floor cleaner...thats its main purpose and why it was made....but then it was tested for all other things and found to be awesome at it all...and now its used a grime cleaner.
Soim guessing check the floor cleaner section, hardwood to be exact.
