Pakistan is all about networking, talk to people, spread the word, ask people to introduce you to people that they know in your field.

I would not say sifarish. I secured internships and later job offers from fairly reputed local companies and multinationals there since I knew some people who knew people and could get my resume in front of the right person. The people who were in these companies were fresh grads anyways so had no sifarish power, all they could do is pass it to their boss etc. This way you avoid the middlemen of HR and recruiting, which in general are a pain even in US.
Getting Job in Pakistan
Hi all , i have recently joined GUPSHUP and hope to have good time with u ppl. I am a Software Engineer by profession and working in a Software House in Lahore, Pakistan.
As for as job is concerned , well its the most difficult task now a days espacially in the Field of IT (Information Technology) bcz of Slump, Mostly ppl are getting jobs (Not even job but Internships) through their personal contacts or safarish. Although i can tell u some ways to search fir job if ur lookin for an IT Job.
1- Read the newspaper (DAWN/NEWS) at weekends.
2- there are almost 5 or 6 STP (Software Technology Parks ) in Pakistan , just go there and drop ur resume in all the companies/Software Houses and if u have a personal contact there then its good but even then it depends on ur skillset and luck.
3- if ur an IT expert then try to improve ur skillset to the following technologies bcz these are the widely used now a days .
----- Microsoft .NET
----- J2EE / Weblogic
----- VB+SQL-Server
----- Macromedia Director / Flash / Adobe (For Graphic Designers)
----- CCNA / CCNP (Networking)
So, these are some of tips that can help u … and i will be happy if i can help u ppl in some regard … Thanx and regards
