Re: How does one know?
This is not the first time this issue has been raised... it is an old-timer, and it has an answer other than traditional hadith and sunnah. More than 1/3 of the Quran deals with telling the prophet to say something or do or not do something... if anything, that is the example to follow.
ofcourse , this topic is discussed 1000 times in this forum
simply following means , quran say offer nimaz but what to read in nimaz or how to offer nimaz is not mention
unless you not follow Muhammad , you are unable to offer nimaz

the word is sala(t), and not mean namaz... InnaAllah wa Malaikatahu u*Salloona 'alann Nabi... how do you translate this? *Allah and his angels **offer namaz* upon the Messenger*?

and does Allah and farishtay do rakoo and sajood for muhammad as predicted from your ambigous half quoted ayat

Re: How does one know?
My thought has always been, and why of all the major religions I find Jesus' teachings in the Bible to be my best example to follow as he represented the perfect man. Not that any of us will ever get there, but it is something to strive for. .
did jesus cancel out everything in the old testament? if not then what was in the old testament that he specifically did not cancel out was part of his message, and lets nto get into what all old testment says, also what do you say about him ransacking at the temple? if we are going to set standards of perfection, I am sorry, there is no perfect man.
Re: How does one know?
A religion, such as Islam usually encompasses a particular belief geared to a higher force, with sociological and theological elements implemented for pleasing the higher being by showing aligience to it through rites and traditions which may or may not evolve, and in the long run tend to stagnate by creating a division of society into various classes: Elite, Clergy and Masses.
The system of islam is geared towards socialism with a specific methodology general enough to be adapted to all times... the belief in a higher, intangeable and hyper-transcendant being is an integral part of the governance, but there are no rites other than forming a moral society with emphasis on eradication of social divisions (racisim, religious division etc), spreading a specific message to neighbouring communities/species as being the best example, eradication of poverty, and following this general methodology (doing good and encouraging endurance) for all times for continuous growth and improvement to a state where we (humans) as a race are evolved enough to meet our Maker.
understood, thank you.

Jesus brought a new testament, in my opinion it should have trumped the old testament, but organized Christianity doesn't follow that belief. I don't think Jesus ransacking the temple proves that he was not a perfect man. It was the closest thing to a violent action that was attributed to him. It's not like he killed or ordered the killing of anyone.
