nice thread...i have a friend who is just very nice to everyone and "several" women have this delusion that he's in love with them, but they don't discuss this with each other..two of them told me (separately) how they were so sure he loved them...lol :D

There is no such thing as desi men.
Men are men and even desi men come in all sort of ways to show their interets. No uniqye way.
there is a difference between men of different cultures, men from western cultures would be more demonstrative with their feelings, sometimes with our desi culture, both men and women tend to be less vocal/forthright about how much we might care or love somebody especially in the first stages of love

That might be your point of view base on your obeservation not denying that.
But as I see, when it comes to emotions such as this, it is the upbringing of an individual and his own personality which makes the difference and this cannot be generalized.
There may be a desi man who is secretively in love, shy, timid, but there might be another desi man who is not. Some desi may go through family and some may not and take the lead themselves.
Love/interest in a person is expressed in many ways and desi men do them all.
Western men can also be non-expressive and timid in the beginning. They may also be lacking the self confidence depending on their own background/upbinging. Not all non-desi men are blunt or expressive.

there's no such thing. get your head out of the clouds...he may seem in love with you right now...but if another girl just as pretty gives him a bit of attention and he'll fall head over heels for her too.
who cares if they're in love with you or not...
but some guys really do seem smitten with their wives... those women are indeed lucky mA.

That's almost like a negation or contradiction. In the beginning you say there's no such thing.......and toward the end your sentence seems to indicate that there may be a possibility that love exists.
